Property Description

Online Auction begins ending Saturday, April 11th, at 11:00 AM. Established in 1876, this remarkable 118-acre farm has remained in the Tanner family for five generations and is being offered to the public for the first time in over 150 years. The original farmhouse still stands in its elegant form, showcasing what appears to be a solid foundation along with original doors, trim, and windows. The home offers 7 bedrooms, 1 full bath, a kitchen, and living room, and is ready for thoughtful updating to restore it to its former glory. Utilities include a natural gas furnace, electric service, county water, septic system, and Spectrum internet availability. The farm is well-improved with multiple outbuildings, including a 45' x 90' three-sided implement shed, a 30' x 72' shed with an enclosed 18' lean-to, a 24' x 24' horse barn, and a feed lot. A separate water well located near the horse barn services livestock. The open acreage consists of a mix of hay fields and pasture, complete with a spring-fed water trough and a pond. The wooded acreage features an assortment of young and maturing hardwoods and is highlighted by rolling terrain, ravines, natural pinch points, and a creek running through the property--ideal for recreation, wildlife habitat, or long-term timber potential. Overall, the land offers an excellent balance of open and wooded ground with gently rolling topography throughout. Conveniently located with easy access to I-70, the property provides a straightforward commute to Columbus or Cambridge while maintaining a true country setting. The farm will be offered in six individual parcels, as well as in any combination of parcels, providing flexibility for a wide range of buyers. This is a rare opportunity to own a beautiful and historic piece of Muskingum County.
